About Tricks Studio: Animation specialists
We're a group of designers and animators who fell in love with using animation to make complex ideas simple. After a decade of delivering animations for some of the world's biggest brands, we firmly believe that animation is the best way to communicate with your audience. We're not full-service - we only do animation. It's what we love, it's what we're good at, and it's how we help our clients Tell It Better.
Why Tricks?
We've spent years defining and refining our processes, insights and knowledge. We pack everything we learn into our box of Tricks - a playbook for consistently delivering brilliant results for our clients.
Specialised
(The Only Thing We Do)
We are the animated communications specialists - we only make animations. Every day for the last decade, we've made animations to turn complex information into simple, memorable stories. Unlike agencies that do everything, our complete focus on animation means we make better animations, faster and more efficiently. Meaning we can deliver brilliant work, on budget and on time.
Results & Outcomes
(Proven Success)
We don't just make beautiful videos - we make animations that help explain products, train employees, win pitches, and drive sales. When an animation needs to work, our clients trust us to deliver. As a studio, our measurement of success is a client returning to commission another project - and we’re proud that over 75% of our clients will work with us again.
Risk Management & Process (Safe Hands)
Our ISO 9001 certification means we've been independently tested and approved for quality. We use the same process to consistently deliver results for our clients, each and every time. Each step of our proven process is designed to catch problems early and keep projects on track, meaning no nasty surprises or missed deadlines.
Creative Partnership
(We Work With You)
We were designers before we were animators. This means we understand brand guidelines and how to work alongside marketing teams. We don't just take orders - we look for ways to push and innovate, making your animation better while keeping it on-brand. Having worked across hundreds of brands, from start-ups to blue chips, we know what works and how to get you the best outcome.
Industry Knowledge
(Deep Experience)
We’ve niched what we offer, rather than who we offer it for. From explaining how medicine works to showing how houses are built, we've animated complex ideas for all sorts of industries. Each sector brings new challenges and insights, which we bring to every project. No matter which industry you’re in, we've probably solved your problem(s) before.
Project Management
(Always In Control)
We pride ourselves on delivering brilliant work, but also delivering work brilliantly. You’ll have weekly check-ins, clear milestones and regular presentations of our work, all neatly structured into a project timeline shared from the get-go. We keep tasks moving without overwhelming you with decisions. You'll always know what's happening and what's coming next.
Scaling Capability
(Growing With You)
Whether you need one animation or one hundred, we can handle it. We create animations in multiple languages, different lengths, and various formats to reach audiences worldwide. As your needs grow, we grow with you - adapting our team size and processes to match your requirements without losing quality.
Reviews & Ratings
(We’red Trusted)
Our clients praise us for timely delivery, high-quality work, and great project management. They tell us we're communicative, creative, and easy to work with - keeping projects professional and well-organised from start to finish. But don't take our word for it - you can read our reviews here.
Timelines
(When You Need It)
Time is a highly valuable resource. Typically our clients are commissioning animation for a new product launch, an important trade show or exhibition or a new website. Our clients trust that they’ll get what they need, when they need it. Our process enables us to work quickly and efficiently.
Budget & Value
(Worth Every Penny)
We don't compete on price - we compete on value. Our specialism in animation means we work more efficiently than general agencies, bringing costs down naturally. Our proposal shows you exactly what your budget gets you, with options to scale up or down based on your needs.
Our team
Meet the people behind the projects.
After falling in love with animation a long time ago (back when I had hair), I worked in various agencies, as a consultant before starting up Tricks as my own studio. Outside of work, I spend my time in coffee shops, the sauna or out running somewhere green.
Since meeting Gordon back in 2014, we've worked next to each other since. Husband to an amazing wife. Father to an inquisitive toddler. Project wrangler in chief.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between 2D and 3D animation?
Put simply, 2D animation is flat whereas 3D animation uses a third dimension. 2D animation is moving vector graphics, shapes, images and text around an artboard. 3D animation usually comprises modelling, lighting, texturing, simulating as well as animating. 3D animations tend to be photorealistic with physically accurate rendering, whereas 2D animations tend to be stylised and have a particular ‘look’. But these aren’t hard and fast rules.
Can you incorporate our brand colours and logo into the animation?
We routinely work with brands that have extensive brand guidelines. We can also work with you to elevate your existing brand. We often find our extensive creative direction guides other suppliers. We will work with you to animate your logo and bring it to life.
Do you provide voiceover services for the animations?
Yes! We have a great roster of talented voice actors, able to turn their hands to a wide range of projects. From serious, professional scripts, through to playful characters. We can advise on nationalities, regional accents and much more. We can work together on what will work best for the project, and then supply you with a few options to pick your favourite.
